Go Matte! Make any lipstick Matte Beauty Hack - Does it work?

Recently while browsing the interwebs I found a DIY beauty trick that I couldn't resist. The beauty hack claims to be able to turn any lipstick matte.

How to
To achieve the matte finish you are instructed to place a tissue over your lips and dust loose translucent powder over your lips with a fluffy brush.

Did it work?
I must admit it kind of works! I also found it helped my lipstick last much longer. I will definitely be experimenting more with this beauty hack.
